After he and partner Derek Stevens successfully launched their new restaurant in Dormont last year, Mike McCoy finds it only natural to incorporate a tight-knit neighborhood business district into the formula of smashburgers, local craft beers and milkshakes.
So it goes that they’re now poised to take their Moonlit Burgers from the South Hills community to the village of Sewickley, where Stevens and McCoy are working to open their third location of the restaurant, with the second in Uptown on the campus of Duquesne University.
Sure, McCoy sees a little selection for burgers in Sewickley, the relatively wealthy community near Route 65 in the Ohio Valley, especially for smash burgers.
But that smaller scale business district was a key draw.
