BALDWIN, Pa. — A busy Munhall road will be closed for several weeks while Allegheny County Public Works crews repair an unstable slope.
Homestead-Duquesne Road was closed at 7 a.m. and will remain closed until December, public works officials said.
The project to stabilize the slope along Homestead-Duquesne Road will begin with the construction of a retaining wall extension and is expected to be completed in early December 2013.
A two-mile detour has been posted.
At the intersection of Main Street and Farragut Street, drivers will go south on Main Street for 1.4 miles before making a left on Brierly Lane and travel one mile to Homestead-Duquesne Road. The detour will remain the same in the opposite direction from Homestead-Duquesne Road and Brierly Lane.
