>> Missing woman’s body found along trail near Geneva College, death ruled a homicide
Rebecca Miller’s body was found on a trail behind the football field on Jan. 11.
“Becky is going to be in my heart forever. I’m going to really miss her. She was special, and she didn’t deserve this,” Jamie Botinovch told Channel 11.
Jamie was one of the last people to see Becky Miller alive, the day before she took a walk down the Rails to Trails path behind Geneva College, and never returned.
Police found her body along the path days later, and according to sources, she was stabbed multiple times.
“To supposedly be walking with a friend in broad daylight, where you can almost be seen from the streets, and commit such a horrible act to such a beautiful person, regardless of what was happening… it’s terrible,” he said.
Sources told Channel 11, they know the last person Becky was with, but no one has been charged in her death.
“I want people to know what a loving person she was. She was caring and wanted to make a difference in life. Obviously, life had something else planned for her.”
Becky worked as a caterer chef at Crop and Kettle, a nonprofit in Beaver County.
Her colleagues say she will be remembered for her charm, wit, creativity and compassion.
Jamie told us that Becky had big dreams of helping others in need.
“She wanted to eventually get a loan for a church, and start a soup kitchen up. She said even if I have to start it out of the back of my car, I will. I want to help people out,” he added.
The fact that no one has been arrested in connection to her death, keeps Jamie up at night.
“It’s driving me crazy that nothing is happening. This isn’t that big of a town. If it’s in broad daylight, there’s cameras everywhere. How something like this can be missed, I don’t know.”
Channel 11 saw the Beaver Falls Police Chief at the trail on Monday. Channel 11′s Gabriella DeLuca asked him if there was an update on the case, or if there was a suspect. He responded that there was nothing he would release at this time.
