NBC's Sunday Night Football crew spreads kindness around Pittsburgh in form of Primanti sandwiches

PITTSBURGH — Football might be all about toughness and grit, but a team from NBC’s Sunday Night Football decided to spread some love and kindness around Pittsburgh Saturday in the form of Primanti sandwiches.

The Sunday Night Football crew teamed up with Primanti Bros. to deliver large orders of the famous “Pittsburgher” sandwich to police, fire and hospital personnel across Pittsburgh on Saturday.

The act of kindness was done as part of NBC’s “Season of Kindness” campaign, and interviews were conducted with Primanti employees and recipients of the food.

Those interviews will air Sunday night during a segment on Sunday Night Football when the Pittsburgh Steelers face off against the Indianapolis Colts. The game starts at 8:30 p.m. on Channel 11.

The Sunday Night Football team hand-delivered the sandwiches on their huge bus that features an array of well-known National Football League stars.

The NBC team also shared to Facebook and Twitter pictures of local Pittsburghers holding Steelers and Colts helmets in front of the bus.

The bus delivered the sandwiches to Pittsburgh Police in Zone 1, Pittsburgh firefighters at Station 32 and hospital personnel at Allegheny General Hospital.

The Sunday Night Football crew shared the images on Twitter with the message to #ShareKindness this holiday season.
