New Penn Hills recreation center in the works

PENN HILLS, Pa. — A new community center in Penn Hills is reportedly in the works.

Penn Hills Councilmember Alan Waldron tells Channel 11 that the municipality has agreed to buy the former YMCA building on Frankstown Road.

Officials hope to turn the building into a recreation center.

The building would cost $1.3 million, Waldron said.

Penn Hills is planning a town hall to discuss the project, though the date hasn’t been finalized.
