North Allegheny graduate expected to pilot NASA expedition to International Space Station

McCANDLESS — A graduate from North Allegheny is expected to pilot on an upcoming NASA expedition to the International Space Station.

Dr. Warren “Woody” Hoburg was known to have a love for rockets when he graduated from the school in 2004 and is now getting the chance to live out his dream.

A clipping from the North Allegheny High School yearbook said Hoburg has been building since he was seven years old.

According to NASA, Hoburg graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics from MIT and earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of California.

Hoburg will be piloting Expedition 69 to the space station.

Launch day is currently scheduled to take place on Feb. 26.
