PENN HILLS, Pa. — A family is displaced after an overnight fire in Penn Hills.
Penn Hills fire officials say they were alerted to the residential fire on the 1100 block of Jodie Lane around 2:30 a.m. First responders saw heavy smoke coming from the home upon arrival and later found flames on the second floor.
The fire was put out in about an hour.
Fire officials say everyone who lived in the home got out safely. Firefighters rescued several pets from the building and reunited them with their owners.
The displaced family is receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
The Penn Hills fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
