RESERVE TOWNSHIP — A woman was found dead near a creek in Reserve Township on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities have closed Spring Garden Road from Ramage Road to Beech Street while the investigation is underway. The Reserve Volunteer Fire Department asks people to avoid the area but says there’s no danger to anyone in the vicinity.
A Reserve Volunteer Fire Lt. tells Channel 11 that they were alerted to a person in a creek around 3 p.m.
Allegheny County Police Department Lt. Venerando Costa says a woman was found dead 10 feet down an embankment right before the creek. Police are working to ID her and determine a cause of death.
According to preliminary information, the woman has been dead for “an extended period of time.” Police say there’s no sign of foul play.
