PennDOT announced ‘Paint the Plow’ contest winners for 2024

PITTSBURGH — PennDOT has announced this year’s winners of the Paint the Plow competition for 2024.

Every year, schools in the state are invited to paint a snow plow based on a provided theme.

This year’s theme was “use your reason when it’s freezin.”

District 11 includes Allegheny, Beaver and Lawrence counties. In that district, there are two winners. There was a “Fan Favorite” award is given to the school that receives the most online votes through PennDOT’s website. A group of judges also select a winner.

A.W. Beattie Career Center won the Fan Favorite Award and Fox Chapel Area High School won the Judges’ Award.

District 10 includes Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson counties. Indiana Area High School won the Fan Favorite Award and Keystone High School was named as an honorable mention.

District 12 includes Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Yough Senior High School of Westmoreland County won the Fan Favorite Award. Central Westmoreland Career and Technical Center won the Judges’ Award.

76 total schools participated in this year’s competition and 23,140 votes were cast.

The plows will be used in the winter.
