In response to rapidly changing weather conditions, PennDOT has temporarily reduced speed limits on several area highways.

Interstates in Allegheny, Beaver, Lawrence, Washington, Westmoreland and Greene counties are affected.
The following roadways have had speeds reduced to 45 miles per hour.
In Allegheny, Interstates 79, 376, 279, 579 and Route 28 are affected.
In Beaver, Interstate 376 is affected. In Lawrence County, Interstates 79 and 376, and Route 422 are affected.

PennDOT has lifted the restrictions on Interstate 70 in in Washington and Westmoreland counties and Interstate 79 in Greene and Washington counties. Those speeds are restored to their usual posted limits.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike speed limit has also been reduced to 45 mph from the Ohio line to Somerset, Exit 110.
PennDOT is encouraging those who can to avoid travel. On roads with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles must move to the right lane.
