Pennsylvania State Police looking for driver who led troopers on high-speed chase in Indiana County

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a driver who led troopers on a high-speed chase in Indiana County Tuesday.

State police said a trooper was conducting traffic enforcement on Old Route 119 Highway South near Johnson Road in White Township at around 12:30 p.m.

The trooper saw a red Nissan Altima sedan that was going 10 miles per hour over the speed limit. The trooper tried to stop the car, but the driver drove south on Old Route 119 Highway South, reaching speeds of around 90 miles per hour, state police said.

The trooper lost sight of the car but found it later on Lucerne Road Extension near Old Route 119 Highway South in Center Township. It was abandoned and unoccupied.

The driver was determined to have fled on foot and was unable to be located, state police said. Troopers also believe that there may have been a passenger in the vehicle who also fled on foot.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Troop A, Indiana at 724-357-1960.
