PITTSBURGH — Students at Perry High School will return to in-person classes on Friday.
The adjustment comes after a shooting outside of the school on Tuesday morning.
Students at Perry learned remotely on Wednesday out of an abundance of caution. They will also be remote on Thursday before they return to in-person classes Friday.

On Tuesday, officers responded to the area for an 11-round shot spotter in the area of the school on Perrysville Avenue shortly after students arrived.
Police said surveillance video shows Micaiah Wheeler, 17, firing shots at a group of about eight people on the steps of the school. No one was hit, and he then ran away.

Wheeler is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, attempted homicide and firearms charges. Court documents state that he is a danger to the community and he’s currently in the Allegheny Jail.
