PITTSBURGH — The city of Pittsburgh plans to implement a vaccine mandate for city employees.
The mandate will go into place on December 22. Employees who are not vaccinated face disciplinary action up to termination.

Statistics released by the city several weeks ago revealed that 40-percent of the police officers are not vaccinated.
Two officers, both from Zone 6 in the West End, have died from Covid-19.

In Pittsburgh, 25-percent of firefighters and only 6-percent of emergency medical workers are not vaccinated.
Allegheny County already announced a vaccine mandate to take effect on December 1st.
