PITTSBURGH — PNC Bank and Chip Ganassi Racing on Wednesday unveiled a new livery for the No. 9 Honda driven by Scott Dixon, the six-time NTT IndyCar Series champion.
The updated look reflects the bank’s brand and continues to feature the orange, blue and white colors Dixon fans have grown to associate with him since 2018.
PNC Bank, part of Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE:PNC) has long been a primary sponsor of CGR’s No. 9 Honda, one of the bank’s best-known and earliest major national sports/entertainment partnerships. The relationship with CGR goes back to 2013.
When the partnership was announced seven years ago, Bill Demchak, PNC’s chair and CEO, explained that it extended PNC’s brand on a national basis. “This is putting our brand out there to millions of viewers,” he said then.
