PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s biggest bank may now span the country coast-to-coast but PNC Financial Services Group Inc. continues to build its presence on home turf.
“I can confirm that PNC has 443 Wood Street under contract,” Marcey Zwiebel, PNC senior vice president and director of corporate public relations, said Wednesday via email. “Our plans for this building, similar to the others we have purchased on the block, are to create mixed-use spaces that support our employees and the broader downtown Pittsburgh community.”
Over the past 10 months, PNC (NYSE: PNC) has scooped up five of the eight buildings on that block, a stone’s throw from its corporate headquarters, the Tower at PNC Plaza. The others are 433 Wood Street; 439 Wood Street; 241 Forbes Ave., better known as the Skinny Building; and 429-431 Wood Street which includes the Roberts Building.
