PITTSBURGH — On Monday, Point Park University announced big structural changes that are coming to its most well-known academic school.
Traditionally, Point Park’s Conservatory of Performing Arts, or COPA, is made up of several departments: dance, theatre and cinema arts. But now, the university is changing that structure, moving instead to establish two new academic schools to operate under the conservatory umbrella, the School of Dance and the School of Theatre, Film and Animation.
According to the university’s announcement, this move is “expected to both increase enrollment and offer students more opportunities to focus on their core areas of interest.”
