Man charged with homicide after allegedly stabbing his brother, father in Mt. Washington

Stabbing Police are investigating an incident in Mt. Washington.

PITTSBURGH — A man is accused of stabbing his brother and father in Mt. Washington on Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the 100 block of Southern Avenue in Mt. Washington at 7:57 a.m. for a report of a domestic stabbing.

One of the victims told police his brother, 31-year-old Javon Taylor, broke into their father’s house with a knife.

Officers found both victims, a father and son, suffering from stab wounds at the scene.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, but the father died. He was identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office as 72-year-old Vincent Roebuck.

The complaint states that Taylor’s brother had a protection-from-abuse order against him.

Taylor has been charged with criminal homicide, criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, burglary and recklessly endangering another person.

The complaint says Taylor admitted to committed the stabbing because he was frustrated, cold and wanted a cigarette.

He is in police custody.
