Additional details released after stand-off situation in Kiski Township, suspect in custody

KISKI TOWNSHIP, Pa. — One man is in custody after a stand-off situation in Kiski Township Sunday morning.

Police say that a 911 call came in about a man firing a gun outside his home on Water Street. Officers responded to find that the suspect, 36-year-old Joshua Reilly retreated to his residence and continued to fire his weapon out of a second story window towards nearby structures.

A perimeter was set up around the residence in an attempt to talk Reilly into surrendering, according to police.

Police say that Reilly exited the home with a shot gun in hand and made threats to responding officers that he would kill the police and himself. Police said this continued for 30 minutes and then Reilly headed back inside.

The Pennsylvania State Police SERT unit was contacted and responded on scene. They began to make entry, and then Reilly surrendered to officers after another brief standoff.

Reilly resisted arrest and spit at several officers’ faces, according to information released by police.

A search was conducted inside the residence and officers found approximately one pound of methamphetamine, marijuana, additional firearms, a large sum of cash, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Washington Township Police, Vandergrift Police, Gilpin Township Police, and State Police assisted Kiski Township Police in the arrest.
