BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — The man accused of boarding a school bus and threatening children in Butler Thursday morning has been arrested.
Clifford Anderson, 44, was taken into custody Thursday night and booked in the Butler County prison.
According to police, Anderson was caught on camera boarding the school bus around 7 a.m. at a stop near Lincoln and Center avenues. The driver was picking children up to transport them to an elementary school within the Butler Area School District.
Police believe Anderson was trying to intervene in a dispute between children.
Court documents say he ignored commands from the driver to exit, put his index finger up and said, “Do not (expletive) with my nephew.”
The school district sent a memo to families that read “We were notified of an incident that occurred on bus #45 this morning. An adult entered the bus without permission and yelled at the driver and students. The police have been notified and are investigating the situation.”
Anderson faces charges of terroristic threats and harassment.
