NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. — An 18-year-old was shot and killed Tuesday night in North Braddock.
State police say there was a disturbance with multiple people in the street in the 400 block of Lobinger Avenue at around 9:20 p.m that became physical.
Nevaeh Howard, of Rankin, was shot in the chest. She was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where she later died.
State police are investigating.
Woodland Hills School District Superintendent Dr. Daniel Castagna sent the following statement to district families:
“The Woodland Hills School District joins our entire community in mourning the death of Nevaeh Howard following Tuesday night’s incident in North Braddock.
We want to offer our sincere condolences to Navaeh’s family and friends as they grieve this devastating loss. The district will have grief counselors and extra support available for both students and faculty during this incredibly difficult period.
Please keep Navaeh’s family and our students, faculty and their families in your thoughts and prayers.”
