Man killed in Homewood North shooting

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating a deadly shooting in Homewood North.

A spokesperson says Pittsburgh police, fire and EMS responded to Race Street between Collier Street and North Braddock Avenue around 9:30 p.m. after a 12-round ShotSpotter alert.

Arriving officers found a man on the sidewalk shot several times. They began lifesaving measures until firefighters and medics could take over, but the man died on scene.

The victim was identified as Gregory Prince, 38.

The area was processed for evidence, including recovering shell casings and all available video footage.

The shooting remains under investigation.
