Police search for gunman who shot teen in N. Braddock

NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. — Police are searching for the gunman who shot a teen in North Braddock Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, the shooting happened on Jones Avenue around 1 p.m. with gunfire striking a 17-year-old boy in the stomach.

The teen’s name has not been released, but a man at the scene said the victim is an intern with the Braddock Youth Project and was on his lunch break.

“He’s just a good kid. He really wants to just graduate high school. He wants to get away from all of this,” said Dario Soto, who knows the victim.

The boy is expected to be OK.

There was no word on any suspects in the shooting.
