Police still investigating after severe crash shuts down Babcock Boulevard in Ross Township

Two people are recovering in the hospital after a crash on Babcock Boulevard in Ross Township just after 7 p.m. Friday.

Police say they believe weather conditions and wet roads caused a driver to lose control near the GetGo before hitting an SUV head-on.

Jason Patterson, the general manager of nearby Hop House bar, said this is not the first time a crash has occurred in this stretch of road. But he hopes it’s the last.

“There are accidents here all the time,” Patterson said. “Everyone comes down this bend up here. It’s a blind spot and they’re traveling at a high rate of speed, so it’s common problem.”

One driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to recover.

Police say their investigation will continue to ensure there were no other factors in the crash.
