Primanti Brothers responds to Burger King's ‘French Fry Burger'

PITTSBURGH — The fast food chain Burger King is coming out with a sandwich that’s not sitting well with Pittsburgh-based Primanti Brothers.

The local restaurant chain isn’t keeping quiet about their displeasure with Burger King’s “French Fry Burger.”

“It’s cute that they’re trying, but here’s what a real sandwich with fries on it looks like,” Primanti’s tweeted.

Burger King, the home of the Whopper, plans on charging $1 for the burger topped with French fries.

“Anytime someone tries to copy what you do it is a form of flattery. Primanti's uses fresh hand cut fries, never frozen fries,” Primanti Brothers spokesperson Lara Bentz said.

Burger King hasn’t commented.
