Several residents, businesses affected by Monroeville water main break

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — A water main break in Monroeville left dozens of residents and businesses without water Monday morning.

Authorities said a break in a 20-inch line forced Monroeville Road between Ohio Street and Kentucky Avenue to close.

Chuck Buntack told Channel 11's Trisha Pittman that the break left him waterless.

"My wife woke me up this morning and said we didn't have water. I didn't know what to do because you can't go out and buy it first thing in the morning, so I went down to the creek to get .some," he said.

Buntack said he had surgery scheduled for Monday and needed to shower beforehand.

"I had surgery at 8:30, and I didn't take a bath last night. I thought I'd take one this morning and be nice and fresh when I went there," Buntack said.

Sam Sarandis, the owner of Sarandis Painting, said his business was also without water on Monday.

"Right now, we have no water. But I trust these guys; they'll take good care of us," Sarandis said.
