PITTSBURGH — Residents in Oakland’s Skyvue Apartments are able to return to their building after a condemnation and evacuation kept them away.

According to an email sent to residents on Christmas Eve, elevator 1 has been repaired and has passed inspections.

Residents were able to get back into their apartments on Christmas Day.

City officials made the decision on December 20 to have residents living on the fifth floor and higher to move out due to issues with elevators.

Skyvue Apartment management provided hotel accommodations for residents who were affected.
