Residents in Washington County enjoying snow day, commend crews for quick treatment of roads

CANONSBURG, Pa. — Snow came down all throughout the Pittsburgh region Monday, with some of the southern areas seeing more than others.

We saw plenty of plow trucks out today. In Canonsburg, we saw back roads and main roads cleared off. PennDOT told Channel 11 they have crews out in full force treating the roadways. A parent told Channel 11 crews have been doing a good job in his neighborhood along Giffin Avenue.

“It was definitely snowing I first heard the snow plows going 2 this morning so they’ve been doing a good job keeping everything clear,” Boyd Bower said.

Others were out enjoying the weather.

“I enjoy it. I’m here with my dogs. I love walking them. I enjoy the nature,” Malathi Machani said.

Earlier today, we saw some kids taking advantage of the snow. Many classes were cancelled today due to the snow. Some kids at Canonsburg park were sled riding.

“I love snow days because there’s snow is everywhere you can go sled riding and make snow angels and just have a lot of fun and here kids come from all around the neighborhood to sled and be with family,” Vivianna Bower said.
