Ringgold School District: Employee may have had inappropriate contact with student

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — According to a letter sent home to Ringgold School District students Wednesday, an employee has been accused of having inappropriate contact with a high school student.

The district superintendent, Dr. Karen L. Polkabla, stated in the letter that the employee in question has been removed from Ringgold School District property and will not have any contact with students while they’re on district property until the matter has been resolved.

Polkabla’s full letter is below:

Dear Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, and School Community,

It has been publicly reported that allegations have been made that an employee of the Ringgold School District may have had inappropriate contact with a Ringgold High School student. As this is a personnel matter, it is the School District's policy not to make any comments regarding the details of this situation. However, I want to assure the public and the parents of our students that the Ringgold School District takes such allegations very seriously. The School District is cooperating with the authorities, and it has taken action to remove the employee in question from School District property. Until this matter is resolved, the employee in question will not have any contact with students in the Ringgold School District while they are on School District property.

Respectfully,

Dr. Karen L. Polkabla
