ALIQUIPPA, Pa. — A school bus driver is under investigation after a student posted video on Facebook allegedly showing the driver texting while driving, Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz reported.

The video, which was recorded Wednesday by a seventh grade student in Aliquippa, shows the driver with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the phone.

“Nobody should be on the phone. They should be watching the road and driving the bus,” the student’s stepfather, who didn’t want to be identified, said.

After the student’s parents posted the video on Facebook, the bus company and school district launched an investigation.

A spokesperson for the R.J. Rhodes bus company said in a statement that the driver is a long-term employee who did not drive for them Thursday morning.

“We do not tolerate this type of behavior. We, along with the school district, are investigating,” the statement, in part, read.
