Ron Brown didn’t answer any of our questions as he turned himself into police.
Police say he his daughter was bartending at the Aliquippa VFW on the day Coleman was brutally attacked. According to investigators, she called her dad and Brown watched Brett Ours repeatedly punch, kick and strangle Coleman for nearly thirty minutes.
Then, as Coleman was nearly unconscious, police tell Channel 11 Brown joined in and punched the victim over and over again.
“My client is not the primary client in this case, they are still looking for Ours. He did the right thing and turned himself in today,” Brown’s defense attorney Steve Valsamidas said.
Ours still hasn’t been caught.
Earlier today, Coleman’s family and their attorney held a news conference, and called for everyone who was in the VFW to be charged since no one called 911 until Ours had left.
“Based on surveillance footage this individual took breaks while beating Preston, and let’s be honest… there were multiple times a phone call could have been made,” the family’s attorney, Steve Barth, said.
Detectives now tell us a minor disagreement is what provoked Ours to attack Coleman.
Coleman has been in the hospital, breathing through a tube and with multiple brain bleeds.
Brown is in jail on a $100,000 bond.
