PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man was sentenced Monday to four and a half to nine years in prison for a fatal DUI crash in December 2013.

Robert Freund, 22, was previously convicted on various charges, including homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, in the death of 60-year-old James Posey.

Police said Freund’s blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit at the time of the crash, which occurred on Route 51 in Mount Washington.

In addition to his prison sentence, Freund must also serve five years of probation, according to Channel 11's partners at TribLIVE.

Posey, who owned Mr. Ribbs restaurant in the Hill District, died at the scene.

“This man brought joy to every single person -- every single person that he met,” Posey’s wife said.

Posey's daughter and two nieces, who were also in the car, were treated for minor injuries. A woman who crashed into the back of Posey's vehicle suffered a concussion, according to TribLIVE.

Posey’s wife is determined to fight drunken driving in honor of her husband.

“He fixed people’s lives, he fixed their hearts, he fixed their souls. So now I have to help fix the streets,” she said.

Tonight on Channel 11 News at 5, hear what else Posey's widow had to say about Freund's sentencing and the loss of her husband.
