PITTSBURGH — Several Pittsburgh Police Officers were honored Friday for their outstanding performance in law enforcement, specifically for their efforts to bring a kidnapped baby back to her parents.
Within hours of 3-day-old Bryce Coleman being kidnapped from Magee Women’s Hospital in September, the officers captured the suspect and returned Bryce to his mother.
“We are very proud that it was a successful investigation, and that the baby was quickly returned to the mother,” Chief Paul Donaldson said.
The officers honored were Lt. Robert Roth, Sgt. Cristyn Zett, Officer Tom Gorecki, officer Bill Churilla, Officer Mike Lafferty and Officer Brittany Miles.
Also honored Friday was the federal prosecutor who brought charges in the Pitt bomb threat case, as well as the ATF agents who cracked the case of the Jeannette arsons and the Pennsylvania State Police Somerset County criminal investigation unit for solving the murder case of a high-level New York drug dealer.
