PITTSBURGH — Rain will end as we turn much colder tonight. Temperatures will drop near freezing by Sunday morning. Snow showers will develop in the morning and continue throughout the day. Snow squalls are possible, bringing bursts of snow in bands that will quickly change visibility to whiteouts and hurt road conditions at times in some locations. Use caution when driving on Sunday. Temperatures will stay in the low to mid-30s with gusty winds pushing wind chills down to the low 20s through the day.

A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect tonight from midnight through 2 a.m. Monday for Butler, Armstrong, Lawrence, Venango, Forest, Clarion, Indiana, ridges of Westmoreland & Fayette counties. In these locations, snow accumulations of 2″-4″ is possible in spots and snow squalls will reduce visibility at times. Snow showers should shut off by late Sunday night. Areas around Pittsburgh not in the advised locations could see a coating up to around 1″, slightly higher amounts are possible in spots.
A Wind Advisory will go into effect at 6 a.m. Sunday morning until noon Monday in the ridges of Indiana, Westmoreland, and Fayette counties and east in the mountains where winds could gust up to 50 mph.
A warming trend is expected again next week, highs will reach the 60s by Tuesday and possibly 70s by the end of the week.
Make note that daylight saving time begins early Sunday at 2 a,m. Don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour before bed tonight.
