The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has temporarily reduced the speed limit on Interstate 80 in Mercer and Venango counties due to winter weather conditions.
The 45 mph speed limit is in effect on the highway from the Ohio state line to Exit 42 (Route 38, Emlenton).
Commercial vehicles not affected by the restrictions must move to the right lane.
PennDOT said although its crews have been treating the roadways, the department’s goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of snow and ice. It will continue to treat roadways throughout the weather until snow stops and roads are clear.
