PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Terrible Towel, unveiling a commemorative version of the late Myron Cope’s creation Sunday.

Fans voted on the design of The Terrible Towel’s 40th Anniversary edition. It was revealed before the Steelers game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cope's children, Elizabeth and Danny, led the "Terrible Towel Twirl" before the game.
Sunday also marked quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's return after a knee injury. On the opening drive he registered 40,000 career passing yards, becoming the first player in team history to do so.
