PITTSBURGH — The NFL is starting a new holiday tradition for teams playing around the Christmas holiday.
The four teams competing in the NFL Holiday Remix, the Steelers, Chiefs, Ravens and Texans, will wear a festive, holiday-inspired uniform patch when they play on Dec. 21 and 25. The patch features two candy canes backing the NFL shield and marks the start of Netflix streaming NFL games.
The Steelers play the Ravens on Saturday, which airs on FOX, then the Chiefs on Christmas Day, which streams on Netflix.
“The NFL on Christmas has become a holiday staple with families coming together to celebrate and watch NFL games,” said Tim Ellis, NFL executive vice president of marketing. “This year, we look forward to the start of a new holiday tradition with Netflix which will be seen around the world, and these holiday-inspired uniform patches are a great touch to mark this special occasion.”
These games are the first of a three-season partnership between the NFL and Netflix to globally broadcast Christmas Day games.
