BRENTWOOD, Pa. — On Koegler Avenue in Brentwood, you’ll find a blue car, covered by branches and debris from a massive tree that came crashing down overnight.
“The back is shattered, the back windshield,” Evan Ford said about his mom’s car.
It was parked outside his parents’ house, near one of their trees on Sunday. But in the middle of the night, they heard a commotion outside.
“I look out my window, I see a tree down. Immediately, I’m making sure my dad is okay because I know he’s downstairs,” Ford said.
Ford’s dad was okay, but his mom’s car wasn’t. And, it’s not the only instance of storm damage reported across the region.
Thousands of people woke up without power and with property damage due to high winds that blew through the area. Another tree fell onto a vehicle in Brighton Heights – the back of the car smashed in and the tree trunk lying next to the car.
In Westmoreland County, a massive oak tree fell onto a house at Camry Drive and Arona Road. Our crew spoke with Brinko Tree Service, which specializes in emergency storm management.
“We have a BIK grapple truck that will reach 126 feet. It will reach out, grab the piece, and bring the piece to the ground for us,” said Mike Brinko of Brinko Tree Service
No word on if there are any injuries in any of the areas worst hit.
