A student entered McKeesport High School with a handgun Tuesday morning, according to a social media post from the district.
A security guard found the weapon in the student’s bag around 8:15 a.m. and turned it over to the district police and administration.
The student never made it past the security checkpoint, according to the post. There was no danger to staff or students.
The district will follow disciplinary policy and procedures and McKeesport police will investigate.
