McCANDLESS, Pa. — A former employee has been arrested in connection to two burglaries at Subway restaurants in the North Hills.
The owner of the restaurants, Sunny Bedi, said he was going to check on a break-in at one location when he checked his security system from his phone and noticed someone inside his other location.

"I could only see somebody exiting, so we weren't sure. I saw the back of the person," Bedi said.
As it turned out, the burglar was someone Bedi had once trusted.
Police said 35-year-old Brad Dofner, a former employee and new father, told his girlfriend that he had a key and was going to get money.
"We treat our employees like family, so we had tried to help him actually before he left. He even borrowed some money," Bedi said.
Dofner was arrested at a home in McCandless, where he was hiding in a crawl space under a blanket.
