Suspect arrested in Ambridge synagogue robbery

AMBRIDGE, Pa. — Ambridge police arrested a man Sunday in connection with a March synagogue robbery.

Police said Joseph Scott broke into the Beth Samuel Jewish Center in Beaver County and stole several computers and a safe from the synagogue.

Police said they found Scott at his sister’s house in Ambridge, where they recovered a computer and the safe. Seven laptops are still missing, police said.

Authorities said they were led to Scott after he left behind his wallet containing his driver’s license during the robbery.

Scott is wanted out of Pittsburgh for a burglary and moves all the time, making it difficult to track him down, police said.

Police said others may have been involved in the robbery, and they are continuing their investigation.
