BRACKENRIDGE, Pa. — Tarentum police are investigating after a Brackenridge convenience store was robbed Saturday night.
It happened just after 7:30 Saturday night at the par mar near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Mile Lock Lane, according to a Facebook post by Tarentum police.
Surveillance video shows the moments police said a robber ran through the convenience store doors, up to the counter, and demanded money from the cashier. She appears to take money out of the drawer and hand it over.
Police say the robber, who is wearing red and black gloves in the video, ran off seconds later.
Channel 11 asked investigators if the robber had a gun, and how much money they got away with, but were told that no additional information will be released at this time.
Customers said they’re glad the cashier was not hurt.
“They’re out there working, and some people don’t even want to work, I’m just saying, it’s scary to have to have somebody come in here,” said Lou Veri, a Par Mar customer. “I think it’s pathetic.”
Others are upset this happened in their community.
“That would be the second time it was robbed. About 4-5 years ago it was robbed once,” said David Zembrowski of Brackenridge.
Tarentum police are asking anyone who lives in the area to look at their doorbell surveillance footage to see if they can help investigators identify the robber.
