BUFFALO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Emergency crews rescued a teenager Wednesday morning who was trapped under an ATV in Buffalo Township.

Officials said the 19-year-old man is an employee at the Mel Blount Youth Home, and was feeding cows when the ATV slid into a ravine.

The man was able to use his cellphone to call for help.

He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, and officials said he’s expected to be OK. The teen’s name has not been released.

Mel Blount’s wife, Tianda Blount, said, “Mel tries to give young men in the community an opportunity to work, and unfortunately accidents happen.”
