BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — We’re told this started as an argument over an unfinished bathroom with a contractor and now two siblings will grow up without their father.
Willie Dawkins, 32, was a father of two, a University of Pittsburgh graduate and a football coach.
“What I want to know is how and why did you execute my son the way that you did? You executed my son for no reason.”
Blanche Lowe says a piece of her heart is missing after her son was shot five times in the back.
“He shot him in the head, chest, stomach and the shoulder. My son never pulled out a weapon and he is licensed to carry,” said Lowe.
Lowe tells Channel 11 that Dawkins’ girlfriend called him on Saturday to her house at the Cedar Ridge Estates in Center Township because a contractor didn’t complete remolding work and wouldn’t return her money. She says Dawkins and the contractor argued and that’s when gunshots rang out. Dawkins died at the hospital on Sunday.
“I don’t know what’s in store for me and my grandkids. That was my baby boy, 32 years old who had a wonderful life ahead of him. I had to lay in the hospital bed. The way you shot him, the way you did him, is cold blooded,” said Lowe.
Over the weekend, the Center Township Police Department posted on Facebook that they were looking for a man in a white van. Hours later, they provided an update that they had talked with the suspect and are working with the Beaver County District Attorney to determine what criminal charges will be filed.
But for Lowe it all boils down to this.
“I’ll say this God loaned my son to me and I did whatever I could. And I know it’s up to God to do the rest. I thank you for giving me my son,” said Lowe.
