Thursday will be coldest day of the week with temps barely making it into the 20s

PITTSBURGH — The coldest day of the week has arrived with many areas barely making it into the 20s today. Wind chill to start the day will be down near zero in some areas. There are still some snow showers lingering in parts of the area to start the day. Watch for icy patches on area roads.

Widespread single digits are likely Thursday night as the sky clears out a bit. Wind won’t be as much of a factor, however.

Our next weather maker rolls in Friday night and early Saturday with on and off light snow. Right now it looks like most of the area will see an inch or so of snow. A few areas could see a bit more, but this will not be a major storm for the region. If you have Saturday morning plans, know that roads might be a bit slick.
