PITTSBURGH — The wife of Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley appeared in court Monday, and also talked to Target 11 about her family’s recent legal problems.
A civil complaint accused Christine and Todd Haley of failing to pay $10,000 to a man who watched their four dogs.
Christine Haley told an arbitration panel Monday morning that she made one payment of $3,000, and refused to pay the rest because she said her two English bulldogs became so aggressive that she had to get rid of them. She blamed this on the dog sitter, Nick Fiscante.
“Your little kids say, ‘Where are George and Frank?’ because they want their dogs back. We couldn’t take a risk to have them hurt,” Christine Haley said.
Fiscante denied the allegations, and a ruling is expected later this week.
“If we owe somebody, we pay them. That’s how things are done here. I don’t know if celebrity status comes into play with it, and I’m hoping that’s not the case,” Fiscante said.
Christine Haley also defended her family from a second lawsuit that accused them of backing out of a $1 million house deal, and then trashing the home.
“I hope everybody out there doesn’t believe everything they read and hear because a lot of it is very misleading,” Christine Haley said.
The contractor claims the Haley’s took appliances, tubs, sinks and shrubs from the Upper St. Clair home. He included pictures of the alleged damage in the lawsuit.
“The pictures that were represented were not accurate or correct because we didn’t do that and we would never do that,” Christine Haley said.
The house lawsuit is expected to go to arbitration.
