Tractor-trailer crosses center lane, crashes into oncoming traffic on I-79, trooper says

I-79 crash A tractor-trailer traveling north crossed the center of the highway, striking vehicles traveling south on Interstate 79 Wednesday, state police told Channel 11.

A crash involving a tractor-trailer backed up traffic along Interstate 79 Wednesday morning.

It happened just after 8:15 a.m. in Franklin Park near the Nicholson Road Exit.

Trooper Rocco Gagliardi with Pennsylvania State Police said a tractor-trailer traveling in the northbound lanes crossed over, hitting vehicles in the southbound lanes.

At least one person was injured but none of the injuries was life-threatening, he said.

Both directions reopened to traffic after 10 a.m.
