MUNHALL, Pa. — A truck plunged several hundred feet over a hillside in Munhall.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on Riverview Avenue.
Dispatchers told Channel 11 that nobody was in the truck when it went over the hillside.
The assistant fire chief of Whitaker tells us they’re actively investigating whether the truck was stolen.
One neighbor said the truck went through her yard and then the truck went down several hundred feet into the woods.
Neighbors have many questions about how this happened.
”I just wonder if it was intentional, especially if no one was in it,” said neighbor Jim Piel.
Authorities said after an extensive search, they confirmed no one was in the pickup.
On Wednesday, Channel 11 saw a local towing company spend hours trying to bring up the truck.
It was challenging and they needed a lot of extra cable.
”Normal cable is maybe about 100 feet. This was 400 feet down so they had to get another 300 feet,” said Brian McClaren, Mac’s Towing.
Authorities said that the truck and what’s inside will be a key part of this investigation.
Police said they know who owns the truck, but are still working to find out who was behind the wheel.
