Former President Trump returns to Butler Farm Show nearly 3 months after assassination attempt

BUTLER, Pa. — Former President Donald Trump returned to the Butler Farm Show Grounds on Saturday, nearly three months after a gunman attempted to take his life at a rally in July.

The former president spoke for an hour and a half to a fired-up and massive crowd of supporters.

Moments after he stepped on stage, he thanked the police and the Secret Service for when he was last there, at the same exact spot where he almost lost his life on July 13.

Thousands of energized Trump supporters at the Butler Farm Show grounds chanted, “Fight, fight, fight,” the same words the former president yelled right after the assassination attempt.

Behind the stage was the uniform of Corey Comparatore, the former fire chief who was killed that day.

At 6:11 p.m., the exact time of that shooting, Trump asked the crowd to join him in a moment of silence honoring Comperatore, a beloved husband and father of two, in front of his family.

Security was much tighter at Saturday’s campaign rally -

Drones flew overhead as trailers lined the security perimeter.

Unlike last time, Secret Service agents and law enforcement coordinated efforts out of one command center.

“From what I’m seeing, I feel very safe here,” supporter Mark Twentier said.

Many supporters were eager to come back to the showgrounds to see Trump finish what he started when he was there last.

“He’s so excited to win back the White House to make the country a better place, secure the border, make people have more money in their pockets,” supporter Christopher Yost said.

Trump’s running mate JD Vance and Tesla CEO Elon Musk also joined the former president on stage, urging people to vote.

“President Trump must win to preserve the constitution,” Musk said.

Trump hit on the economy and slowing inflation, one of the top issues among voters.

“We can turn things around, we will turn it around so fast your head will spin,” Trump said.

With election day just one month away, Trump is confident he’ll win.

“We are going to win together. We are going to vote together. We’re going to win the greatest election in the history of our country,” Trump said.

If he wins the White House, Trump also said he would block the planned sale of U.S. Steel to Japan’s Nippon Steel and he said he would stop the flow of illegal immigration by strengthening the borders.
