Television and movie writers are on strike for the first time in 15 years.

The Writers Guild of America said its 11,500 screenwriters will head to the picket lines Tuesday. Depending on how long the strike lasts, the production of film and TV could be affected.

Streaming has expanded the number of series and movies, which means there are more writing jobs, but members say they are making less money and working under more stressful conditions.
