BRIGHTON HEIGHTS, Pa. — Authorities are investigating after vandals damaged vehicles and spray-painted graffiti in Brighton Heights early Monday morning.
Andrew Matvey told Channel 11’s Brandon Hudson that vandals stole tires off his van and spray-painted it. Matvey said his neighbor’s car was also vandalized.
“I’m on a fixed income and I have no way of getting my tires fixed,” Matvey said.
According to Matvey, he has been targeted before by vandals, so he and his neighbors have set up a neighborhood surveillance system along Geyer Avenue.
“I have no idea who is doing it, but this is the second time in two weeks,” Matvey said. “At 3 a.m. they should be home in bed, not roaming the streets causing other people harm and aggravation.”
Police said the surveillance footage shows the vandals in the act. No other details about their investigation have been released.
“I hope they catch them and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. This isn’t kid’s stuff,” Matvey said.
According to Matvey, the damage to his van was estimated at $400.
